I’m Sabrina—an Austrian-South African photographer based in New York City, specializing in maternity and motherhood.

Raised between South Africa, Austria, and Luxembourg, my childhood was shaped by travel, culture, and a deep connection to the arts. I spent much of my early years exploring the world alongside my mother, whose love for both photography and remote places quietly shaped my own path. I picked up my first camera as a teenager, and for the past 15 years, photography has been both my profession and my way of seeing.

Becoming a mother myself deepened that perspective in a profound way. It gave me a lived understanding of the strength, vulnerability, and quiet beauty woven into this season of life—the anticipation, the transformation, and the deep, evolving bond between mother and child. It’s a journey I now photograph not only as an observer, but from within.

My work is rooted in storytelling. I’m drawn to the in-between moments—the quiet, the intimate, the unspoken—and the way they come together to form something lasting. Blending elements of editorial, fine art, and documentary, I create images that feel both elevated and honest, capturing not just how something looked, but how it felt.

To me, photography is more than preservation—it’s about giving form to memory, holding onto emotion, and creating something you can return to, again and again.
