The story of a photographer
I’m Sabrina, an Austrian-South African photographer living in New York City.
I shoot weddings, elopements and engagements — and as an avid traveler, I absolutely love shooting destinations.
Raised between South Africa, Austria and Luxembourg, I spent long periods of my youth traveling the world with my mother. I grew up surrounded by the arts and chose photography as my primary creative outlet. Inspired by my mothers love for both remote travel and photography, I got my first point-and-shoot camera as a teenager, and for the past 15 years I’ve been practicing photography professionally , as well as continuing to document the many people and places from my travels. I love to capture moments and tell stories in a captivating , creative and organic way.
I TELL STORIES
Photography gives physical form to our memories. Fundamentally, a picture simply recreates and preserves the exact moment of its capture. I strive to take photographs that capture not only exact moments, but evoke in each one the surrounding narrative as it unfolds. While my photography is a blend of editorial and documentary, the underlying form is always the art of storytelling.
“It’s one thing to take a picture of what a person looks like, it’s another thing to make a portrait of who they are.”
-Paul Caponigro
